Thuringia: Thuringia's construction industry employs 26,000 people

Erfurt (dpa/th) – The number of employees and companies in the Thuringian construction industry is quite stable. This is the result of figures from the State Statistical Office on Wednesday. According to this, in the middle of last year there were almost 2,800 companies in the main construction trades with almost 26,000 employees. Compared to the previous year, the decline in companies was less than one percent, and in the case of employees it was a few hundred fewer. According to the state office, the number of commercial trainees in occupations in the main construction trades increased slightly for the sixth year in a row. A total of almost 1,100 young people were in training.
