Weimar (dpa/th) – The Weimar Triangle Prize 2022 goes to a school in Jazowsko, Poland. The project “Virtually discovering the history of a threesome friendship” was awarded, as the city of Weimar announced on Monday. The school from Poland worked together virtually with schools from Truchtersheim (France) and Düsseldorf (North Rhine-Westphalia). The Weimar Triangle Prize is intended to highlight and honor the commitment of the partners and their mutual trust, intercultural learning, tolerance and openness.

In the project, the students dealt with fundamental European values ​​in national and European working groups. The aim was to promote mutual understanding and international understanding. In bi- and tri-national groups, they worked on topics such as Europe’s geography, peace, human rights, democracy and freedom. The project took place on an internet platform so that the students could actively work together even during the Corona period.

The Weimar Triangle Prize, which is endowed with 2000 euros, emphasizes and appreciates the commitment to civil society projects between France, Poland and Germany. The Weimar Triangle was founded in 1991 as a discussion format by the foreign ministers of the three states in Weimar.
