AFITF, a French public institution, is responsible for financing France’s road, rail, river, and port infrastructure. Its funding sources are varied as it receives a portion of the domestic consumption tax on fuel products (TICPE), a payment to motorway concession companies or a part of automatic speed camera fines.
Jean Castex, who was unable to resume activity since May 16th, had “accepted” the proposal. He recalled his “old and well-established love for transport”, particularly trains, and said that he would accept this offer.
Jean Castex, a collector of La Vie du Rail magazine, multiplied the inaugurations small lines, signed high-speed link project projects and even went so far as to go to Paris-Nice to rest.
