Commissioner José Manuel Villarejo has insured at the Parliamentary Commission of the Kitchen Operation that the PSOE gave him the order to “destroy” former popularized Assurance Zaplana using it “to a confidant of the Syrian CNI”.
The former high police command has been questioned by the deputy of PP Luis Santamaría for “political operations” in which he participated following the instructions of the socialist governments and Villarejo has agreed to relate a series of operations in which, he says, participated for
“Destroy the opposition”.
Santamaría has reminded him that in his previous appearance for the espionage to the ex-treasurer popularly Bárcenas has already pointed out that he was used by the PSOE to harm high charges of the PP “using his business structure”.
“You referred Gürtel, Operation Malay and also Astapa,” Santamaría has pointed out.
“Are you reiterated in your affirmation?” He asked the Commissioner, who has answered with rotundity that “absolutely”.
A Renglon followed, Villarejo has added that there was still some more operation against the PP that he had not mentioned so far.
“There was a series of operations referring to knowing the relationships of Mr. Rodrigo Rato with a bank that had problems a posteriori.”
And he added that “there was an interest, I do not know why, to destroy Mr. Eduardo Zaplana, for what was used to an informant, a Syrian Confident of the CNI to see the formulas …”.
It should be remembered that the Civil Guard began the investigation of the Zaplena case precisely based on the roles supposedly found by a Syrian citizen on a floor who had occupied years before the former Valencian Generalitat.
Based on these documents, whose origin and authors remains without being clear more than three years after the detention of Zaplana, a court of Valencia opened a judicial process that continues in the instructional phase.
The name of the former PP spokesman minister has also appeared in the agendas intervened to Villarejo at his home.
In these notes, the police command alludes on numerous occasions to Zaplana in relation to efforts to investigate the heritage of it without a judicial amparo
“There is a lot of political and patriotic police, but unfortunately the police commands of this country are all politicians. Every time the Government changes you send,” Villarejo has replied to Santamaría.
“Every time a government comes, it uses the high controls of the Ministry of the Interior to use them.”
