Russia accuses Ukraine of attempting a drone attack on the Kremlin with the aim of killing Russian President Vladimir Putin. The accusation was launched by the Kremlin and reported by Russian news agencies. On social networks there are images of the Kremlin last night with a small smoke in the background.
The video was posted early Wednesday morning by a group of residents of a neighborhood near the Kremlin, located just across the Mosvka River. The recording was later broadcast by Russian media, including the leading military news channel Zvezda.
The RIA news agency confirmed that Putin was not in the Kremlin at the time and was working at his residence in Novo Ogaryovo, on the outskirts of Moscow. Putin usually does not spend the night at the presidential palace and in fact hardly works there, but rather at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
“The Russian side reserves the right to take retaliatory measures wherever and whenever it deems appropriate,” RIA Novosti quoted the Kremlin as saying. The Russian president, they emphasize from the Kremlin, was not injured and his work schedule has not changed.
“The Ukrainian drone attack on the Kremlin will in no way affect the May 9 parade,” presidential spokesman Dimitri Peskov said.
