The Federal government increased the pressure on airlines to a refund for travellers whose flights were cancelled due to the Corona-crisis. “What is happening is a joke,” said the tourism Commissioner of the Federal government, Thomas Bareiß (CDU), the “image”newspaper on Monday. With views of the billions in aid for airlines in the Corona-crisis, he added: “And the companies, whose future depends on the solidarity and help of the General public.”
Bareiß criticised the fact that the refunds in Germany lasted much too long while they ran in other countries, “often easy”. “The airlines have a legal obligation to their customers, and I expect that will also be fulfilled,” said the tourism officer.
