From this Tuesday, March 7 at 00:00 and until July 31, using the renewed BiciMad fleet will be free. With the aim of encouraging cyclist mobility in Madrid, the public bicycle service offers unlimited free bicycles for almost five months in its two vehicle models (electric and conventional) and in all seasons.
As announced by the City Council, the new BiciMad will have 7,500 electric bicycles this year and 611 stations spread over the 21 districts of Madrid, including Barajas, Hortaleza or Villaverde.
To guarantee the availability of bicycles for all users, a bicycle may not be used for more than 30 minutes, although it will be possible to make all the trips that are necessary; all you have to do is leave the vehicles at the bases after that time.
Until July 31, new subscriptions and their renewals will be completely free.
The first step to use BiciMad is to register on the web, at the Madrid City Hall, in the App or through a telephone number. Once registered we will obtain a password that will allow us to obtain the membership card at any BiciMad station.
This membership card has a cost to which must be added the cost of using the bikes.
In order to use the BiciMAD service, it is necessary to register previously, both annual and occasional users:
