We thus see the name of manufactures appear on cars or racing boats; accompany cultural exhibitions or sporting events; appear in the credits of films or artistic events. Some watches, benefiting from a particular aesthetic or specific functions, are born of these privileged relationships, thus allowing enthusiasts to afford a model in line with their centers of interest.

From May 22 to 28, Rolex will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its artistic mentoring program, linked to the Perpetual Arts Initiative. Named “Rolex Arts Festival”, the operation reflecting the watchmaker’s unwavering commitment to culture will take place in Athens, Greece. Remember that the ambition of this mentoring program is to offer emerging talents the opportunity to work with recognized artists in their field in order to gain confidence and reveal their full creative potential. “The program also contributes to preserving the world’s artistic heritage,” says Rolex. It is therefore a question of dialogue between cultures and disciplines, and of transmitting knowledge to new generations of artists on an international scale. In May, around thirty events will be held in nine different places in the Greek capital, stages, galleries and public spaces. Theatrical, musical or choreographic performances, exhibitions, performances, readings, screenings, installations and multidisciplinary discussions will highlight the creative exchanges between some 60 protégés and mentors.
