At a terminus in the Hemelingen district of Bremen, two young people freak out when the tram driver tells them that the journey ends here. They beat him uncontrollably. Even when the young man is on the ground, they don’t let go of him.
In Bremen, two teenagers hit a 26-year-old tram driver, seriously injuring him. As the police announced, the man drove into a turning loop in the Hemelingen district shortly before midnight on Sunday and stopped behind another train. There he saw two teenagers tampering with the closed back doors of the tram.
When the driver pointed out to the boys that this train would not continue, they reportedly attacked him immediately. They hit him in the face and head several times with their fists until he fell to the ground. There, too, the attackers continued to kick the 26-year-old, hitting his head again.
Only when residents became aware did the young people let go of the man and fled. The train driver was given first aid by rescue workers and then taken to a hospital for further treatment. The criminal police began investigations into dangerous bodily harm. The young perpetrators are said to be around 16 to 17 years old. Witnesses were called to come forward.
