David Bustamante gave an interview to El Hormiguero on Tuesday, April 11. The singer, who presented the new season of Ghost, the musical, revealed what his greatest fear is.
“One thing that they told me in the documentation has caught my attention. You are a very forward-thinking guy and such, but, nevertheless, you are afraid of the sea,” said Pablo Motos. “Very much. I have thalassophobia,” he admitted.
“Darkness terrifies me, the sea when it’s dark and I can’t see the bottom,” explained the artist, who added that he wasn’t scared if the water was turquoise. “I have a house above the sea and I enjoy it, I take the paddle surf board and I’m on top of the board all the time. I learned out of fear. If I fall, I don’t even have time to get wet, I climb up. I believe that, like many people, the movie Jaws hurt me a lot,” he said.
“Many times when I have fallen or the board has escaped while catching waves, then I even have nightmares. Really, I am like a child. One day I was with my daughter, she fell a couple of times and I told her ‘Daniella, or You learn to go up or we go to the mainland,’ “he confessed.
In addition to being immersed in Ghost, the musical, Bustamente revealed in El Hormiguero that he has a new project on his hands. “I’ve got pretty much a whole new album written and composed already,” he revealed.
“I’m really looking forward to it. We’re finishing, we’re in the studio, composing, and soon we’ll start recording. Sooner rather than later we’ll get back to our old ways and I’ll be releasing new music again. I’m really looking forward to meeting my audience again”, acknowledged.
In addition, the guest spoke about what Ghost, the musical, has meant for his career. “I think it is the most beautiful, the most beautiful without a doubt, of my career,” he said about the show, which includes Ricky Merino, Ana Dachs, Christian Sánchez, Ela Ruiz, Joaquín Oliván, Óscar Albert in its cast and Joan More. In the coming months, the musical’s tour will pass through Madrid, Gijón, Pamplona and Málaga.
