Iñaki López was in charge of Más Vale Tarde on Monday, March 27, after a weekend in which he experienced a scare related to his state of health. Cristina Pardo and he joked about the topic at the beginning of the La Sexta space.

Although the journalist had announced on his social networks on Friday the 24th that he was going to be on leave again, on Saturday the 25th he rectified and shared that he could continue going to his program. His partner asked him live on the set: “How are you? Did you sleep well? Are you going to give me a little peaceful afternoon?” He humorously replied: “I believe that health accompanies me until the first advertising block.”

The presenter addressed the viewers to share: “Maybe you don’t know, but since we’re going here suddenly… On Friday Iñaki was already with one foot in the other neighborhood and, suddenly, here is Monday, which makes us happy.” The Basque noted: “He was at the gates of death.”

López commented: “I take you from scare to scare. It is true that working with me does not end at 8 in the evening. You know that I can call you at any time with a surprise.” Pardo wanted to check if he was feeling better: “Everything’s fine, right? Do you see well? How many fingers are here?” The driver of Más Vale Tarde made it clear that his vision was perfect and said: “At the moment I’m doing well.”

Iñaki López suffered a detached retina in his left eye and had to be out for several weeks. He himself spoke about this health problem when he rejoined Más Vale Tarde on February 28. Viewers of the format were able to see that day that he had a wound under his eye. The journalist explained that he was still recovering and told those present on the set: “For me you are just shadows and I recognize and locate you by the sound of your voices.”

The Basque announced in a tweet on Friday, March 24, that he had relapsed: “Now from the other eye. I won’t see you for a while.” A day later he deleted the publication and said that the doctor had given him good news: “Finally, the operation will not be necessary. I smile again and on set on Monday.”
