Joe Biden (79) has survived his corona infection. The US President had already tested negative last Tuesday evening (July 26), as his doctor explained in a message from the White House. Another test on Wednesday morning (July 27) was also negative. Biden shared a photo of his result on Instagram. “Back in the office, I thank my doctor for the good care and all of you for your support,” writes the 79-year-old.

The doctor’s report went on to say that Biden has now completed “five full days of isolation”: “He remains afebrile and has stopped taking Paxlovid for the past 36 hours.” The drug should reduce the risk of a severe course in Biden. His symptoms have steadily improved and almost completely disappeared.

The White House said on Thursday that Joe Biden had tested positive on the morning of July 21. The 79-year-old has already received his second booster vaccination and is suffering from “very mild symptoms”. The statement from the press secretary also said that the US President was continuing his official business from isolation and was taking part in meetings by telephone and video telephony.
