According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Beggs, president of Lionsgate TV, has announced its intention to develop a spin-off series of the drama created by Jenji Kohan. “We are really proud of the long journey that Orange Is the New Black has had,” he said. “It continues to be one of the series more views of Netflix. We will end up in high. Keep in mind that we are the owners of the series and distribute during the next few years. We are already having conversations and, when the time is right, we’ll talk more with Jenji about a possible sequel,” he explained.
Sources from the magazine ensure that these meetings between Lionsgate and Kohan have occurred, but for the moment there is not a specific project for the potential spin-off.
