In November 2000, Swiss television viewers witnessed a memorable television appearance. Ramona and Jürgen Drews are guests in the “LifeStyle” program on the Zurich private broadcaster TeleZüri. Presenter Patty Boser invited the couple to her talk show. When she brings up Ramona Drew’s enlarged breasts, one of the most embarrassing moments in TV history ensues. Drews opens her blouse live in the studio. Neither the moderator nor the viewer can grasp what happens next.
“How about breastfeeding if you want to have a second child?” Boser asked Drews, who was 27 at the time. Shortly before that, Drews made her breast surgery public and had herself photographed for “Playboy”. That has nothing to do with it, says Drews, adding that she still has milk five years after her daughter was born. “I don’t believe you,” says an astonished Boser – and challenges Drews with it.
“I could prove it if I wanted to,” says Drews, sitting on the sofa in an orange, low-cut Versace blouse. At this point, her husband interferes: “Ramona, we’re in Switzerland, they’re not as prudish here as in Germany – get them out,” says the Mallorca singer. Then the unbelievable happens. Drews unbuttons her blouse and uses her hand to pinch her exposed left breast and squirts out breast milk. Husband Drews laughs, Boser looks confused.
The TV excerpt quickly made the rounds in Germany as well. Stefan Raab shows him in his program “TVTotal”, RTL and Sat1 also show the miraculous milk production. Everyone is puzzled: How can that be? Ramona Drews does not provide an answer. “I find it surprising that people are shocked,” she says. Her husband Jürgen Drews adds: “I get a portion of milk from Ramona every day.” Many viewers didn’t want to know that exactly.
