The singer Rihanna, pregnant with her second child, thus presented herself covered with camellias, saluting the house for which Karl Lagerfeld worked for thirty-six years… The camellia has indeed become one of the symbols of Chanel since 1913, three years after the creation of the house, when Coco Chanel was photographed on a beach in Etretat with a flower tied to her belt. That night, at the Met Gala, A$AP Rocky had also taken out his kilt, as Karl Lagerfeld had done in 2004, on the occasion of a Chanel show. Note, since this is obviously the subject, that the rapper had chosen to put on jeans under his, thus contravening the so-called “going regimental” tradition of not wearing anything under his kilt, as members of the regiments did.
