A shooting that turns to hell. Sophie Marceau, aged 18, was chosen to play the role of Noria in the film Police directed by Maurice Pialat in 1985 and starring Gérard Depardieu. In an investigation published by Le Monde, the actress describes a toxic atmosphere there. Upon arriving, the actor greets the women on the film crew with a “squeaker” on their breasts or buttocks. The young actress observes this behavior, from afar, at first. She says that with her, Gérard Depardieu stands more.

“He never dared to touch me in front of the team, otherwise he would have been punched in the face,” she told the newspaper. But she pities “the poor dressers” and feels that everyone seems passive, even amused by this attitude. According to the actress, this is a period when “the director and the main actor can indulge, without anyone saying anything […], behaviors considered inadmissible elsewhere”.

The actor would then have installed a “relation of power”. On the set, he manhandles her, yells at her and pushes her to the limit… Gérard Depardieu allegedly intentionally ate snails before shooting a scene in a car to give her fetid breath. Sophie Marceau also evokes touching during an intimate scene, when the scenario did not require it.

In another scene, the actress recounts being slapped multiple times before bursting into tears. This attitude led to her being called a “fat bitch” with a “hateful” attitude by the director. Faced with these repeated acts, Sophie Marceau tries to alert the film industry. In vain. Gérard Depardieu is now accused by 14 women of rape and sexual assault.
