Gov. Cuomo was one of just six governors who didn’t meet with President Trump at the White House on Monday.
All 50 states’ governors were invited to attend the gathering, sources said.
Trump addressed leaders of 44 states and five territories after the winter meetings of the National Governors Association.
“In typical Cuomo fashion, the gov is concerned about optics and politics, rather than the brass tacks of the state’s business,” said City Councilman Joe Borelli (R-SI).
“Really, Governor, you had nothing to say to the president?”
Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said his boss was busy doing his job. “The governor was in New York yesterday meeting with local officials and announcing accelerated schedules for two regionally significant infrastructure projects,” he said.
He also said Cuomo did not go to association events attended by then-President Barack Obama.
