BRIDGETON — A police officer at Cherry Street School for the “Lunch with a Cop” program ended up arresting a 13-year-old student for bringing an airsoft gun and drugs to school.
The arrest occurred Thursday around 11 a.m. at the school. A member of the school’s security staff alerted the police officer about the airsoft gun and marijuana.

School staff had already brought the teen to the school office and turned over the airsoft gun and marijuana to the police officer.
Police charged the teen with possession of an imitation firearm and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. The teen was processed and turned over to their parents.
