A government seminar will meet on September 6 to follow up on Emmanuel Macron’s “major political initiative”, which brings together the leaders of political parties in Saint-Denis this Wednesday, August 30, announced the spokesperson for the government, Olivier Véran.

Emmanuel Macron, with Élisabeth Borne, receives Wednesday at the School of the Legion of Honor in Saint-Denis the leaders of the political parties represented in Parliament, as well as the presidents of the three chambers Yaël Braun-Pivet (National Assembly), Gérard Larcher (Senate) and Thierry Beaudet (Economic, Social and Environmental Council). The president’s idea is to find “ways” to “advance” the country beyond the divisions and in the absence of an absolute majority in the Assembly.
Olivier Véran also mentioned the notion of “pre-referendum”, also mentioned within the majority. He defined this notion as “a national consultation, without legal value: that is to say that you question the French by asking them questions which cannot be the subject of a referendum according to the Constitution”. . “Nobody closed that door either, but nobody opened it,” the spokesperson said.
