Volume 3 of Nicolas Sarkozy’s Memoirs, Le Temps des combats, is off to a flying start in bookstores. According to the figure communicated by the publisher, the Fayard house, the former head of state sold nearly 24,000 copies in just over a week. “And again, this figure is underestimated, because it does not take into account all the books sold during the signings”, welcomes the director of Fayard, Isabelle Saporta.

“We sell between 400 and 600 books each time,” exults the boss of Fayard. Nicolas Sarkozy’s iconoclastic positions, to say the least – on the war in Ukraine, the relationship with Russia, support for Gérald Darmanin with a view to the next presidential election… – fueling controversy have served to promote the book. “The success will be greater than the previous volume of his Memoirs, Le Temps des tempests”, predicts Isabelle Saporta.
