The Eagles will learn a lot this week at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine — including where they will draft.
Despite the season ending months ago, the Eagles still do not know where they will pick in the 1st round, since they finished in a tie with the Indianapolis Colts for the 14th overall pick.
This Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, a coin flip will be held to determine which team picks 14th, and which picks 15th.
Kenny Stills to Eagles?
The coin, according to the Eagles’ website, is double-headed. One side has the Vikings logo, since the Eagles’ own the Minnesota Vikings pick, and the other has the Colts logo.
If the Vikings logo lands up, the Eagles will be picking 14th.
If it is the Colts logo, they will pick 15th.
“If you have any good-luck things for me to bring to the coin flip,” Eagles’ executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman said to the team’s website, “let me know.”
The Eagles own the Vikings pick as a result of the trade that sent Sam Bradford to the Vikings prior to Week 1 of the 2016 season.
Even if the Eagles do lose the coin flip, the trade is still a smashing success, as Bradford was unable to lead the Vikings to the playoffs, and the Eagles got a chance to see rookie quarterback Carson Wentz for the entire season.
