Belvidere graduate Ryan Appleby and Warren Hills graduate Joey Kratochvil have qualified for the NCAA Division II wrestling championship March 10-11 in Birmingham, Ala.
Appleby wrestles at 285 pounds for Kutztown. The redshirt junior went 15-8 for the Bears this winter. He will face Garrett Gray of Tiffin (Ohio) in the first round of nationals. Gray pinned Appleby in 2 minutes, 30 seconds in a dual meet Jan. 20.
Kratochvil wrestles at 157 pounds for East Stroudsburg. The senior went 14-12 for the Warriors this season, He will meet Ryan Strope of McKendree (Ill.) in his national opener.
