Friday evening delivered a spectacular Bundesliga game, but during the broadcast of the game between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund there was a shocking moment in front of the cameras: During an interview, presenter Andrea Kaiser was shot down with a ball by a fan.
TV presenter Andrea Kaiser was hit in the head by a ball during an interview with Dortmund’s young national player Youssoufa Moukoko. After the conversation with the 17-year-old on Sat.1 after Dortmund’s 4-2 defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday evening went more than a minute and a half, an orange soccer ball hit her on the left forehead. Moukoko, who was also surprised, held the presenter by the arm, Kaiser smiled at the incident and ended the interview.
“Orange balls were handed out to the Gladbach fans. During the interview, people were already calling my name and Moukoko’s. While I was asking a question, a violent shot hit me squarely in the left forehead. This caused my neck to snap back. Maybe I did a little whiplash, I was taped on my neck and still have a bit of a headache, but I’m fine,” said the 40-year-old from “Bild” (Saturday).
The shooter of the ball was immediately arrested by the folders, as reported by the “Bild” newspaper, the man’s personal details were recorded. Kaiser said she was recommended to file a complaint. “The guy probably wanted attention, so autographs and selfies, but then apologized. That’s why I refrained from reporting.”. Sat.1 did not broadcast the recorded interview during the evening broadcast because at that time it was still unclear whether the presenter wanted to report the incident. The broadcaster later made the conversation available online.
