Ai Ogura, the 2024 Moto2 World Champion, recently began his offseason training in preparation for the upcoming 2025 MotoGP season. This talented rider made his MotoGP debut at the Barcelona MotoGP Test, where he impressed with his performance despite acknowledging the need for improvement.
Having spent four successful years in Moto2 before clinching the title with the MT Helmets – MSi team, Ogura has now joined Trackhouse Racing for the 2025 MotoGP season. Despite being part of the Honda Team Asia pathway, the 23-year-old decided to switch to Aprilia, eager to embark on a new challenge.
During the Barcelona Test, Ogura was one of the busiest MotoGP rookies, completing 86 laps and finishing the day in 21st place. Although he was the slowest among the four Aprilia riders, he remained optimistic about his progress and learning experience.
Reflecting on his performance, Ogura shared his thoughts with MotoGP.com, stating, “Overall, I think it was a good day. I had one crash in the morning, but I regained my confidence and gradually improved my pace. The acceleration took me by surprise, but it was a valuable experience for me. Now, I understand the areas where I need to focus and improve.”
As the offseason training continues and the 2025 MotoGP season approaches, Ogura remains determined to work hard and refine his skills to be fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
