Torgelow (dpa/mv) – A 73-year-old driver was seriously injured in an accident on Landesstraße 32 near Torgelow (Western Pomerania-Greifswald) on Tuesday. As a police spokeswoman said, the pensioner’s car left the road and hit a tree head-on. The trapped 73-year-old was rescued by rescuers and taken to a clinic by helicopter. The road leading to Eggesin and Ueckermünde was closed for two hours because of the rescue work and to recover the destroyed vehicle. The cause of the accident is unclear.
