Halle/Erfurt (dpa/th) – In Thuringia, experts expect unemployment to rise in 2023. The scientists at the Institute for Labor Market and Vocational Research (IAB) expect an average of 59,200 unemployed in the state for the coming year. That is around 2,200 more unemployed than the average for 2022, as the regional directorate of Saxony-Anhalt-Thuringia of the Federal Employment Agency announced on Monday in Halle.
This corresponds to an increase of 3.9 percent. Experts are forecasting unemployment to rise by 2.3 percent across Germany – and by 3 percent in eastern Germany.
