Chemnitz (dpa/sn) – This morning (10:00 a.m.) the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency will provide information on the developments on the Saxon labor market in October. Unemployment had recently fallen, but the usual autumn upswing was only moderate given the uncertainty in large parts of the economy. Around 121,500 people were registered as unemployed in Saxony in mid-September (down 1.6 percent), and the unemployment rate was 5.8 percent.

Experts fear that inflation, the energy crisis and other consequences of the Ukraine war will continue to have a negative impact on the German labor market. The labor market barometer of the Nuremberg Institute for Labor Market and Vocational Research fell in October for the sixth time in a row.
