Frankfurt (dpa/lhe) – The Frankfurt Zoo has grown: The eight-year-old Sumatran tiger “Cinta” moved in mid-October, as the zoo announced on Monday. In May, the last tigress left Frankfurt for the time being. Due to renovation work, the time without the species was necessary. In the future, the zoo will also participate in the breeding of the Sumatran tiger, which is threatened with extinction.
The animal still has to settle in: “Cinta” is still very shy and mostly in areas that are not visible to the public. “So our visitors need a little more patience before they can take a look at the tigress,” says the responsible area manager, Anni Fuchs.
