Pulsnitz (dpa/sn) – After a two-year break due to Corona, the gingerbread market in Pulsnitz (Bautzen district) will take place again at the beginning of November. From November 4th to 6th, seven gingerbread shops and the local gingerbread factory will be waiting for customers on the market square of the small East Saxon town. According to the organizers, other handicraft products such as blueprints, pottery and wicker items will also be on offer at around 90 stands.
In 1558, bakers from Pulsnitz received the privilege to produce gingerbread. Today, the city’s eight gingerbread makers form their own guild in Saxony’s bakers’ association.
For the 18th Gingerbread Market, the organizers are again expecting tens of thousands of guests, as in the past. Visitors arriving by car should use a signposted car park in Großröhrsdorf – from there buses commute to Pulsnitz.
