Bad Dürrenberg (dpa/sa) – After the second postponement of the state garden show (Laga) in Bad Dürrenberg (Saalekreis) to 2024, the organizers commented on the reasons. A worsening of the shortage of materials, a lack of human resources and skyrocketing prices have made the landscaping work more difficult, said a Laga spokeswoman on Tuesday. “A financial hole of around 3.5 million euros became apparent and the financing was no longer secured,” added Christoph Schulze, Mayor of Bad Dürrenberg.
The state of Saxony-Anhalt stepped in with around 5 million euros to secure the overall financing, according to the spokeswoman. However, at that point in time, the time was already so advanced that the date for 2023 was difficult to keep. The city council therefore decided to postpone it again in summer 2022.
According to the spokeswoman, the Laga will take place from April 19 to October 13, 2024 on an area of ??around 15 hectares. The heart of the area is the listed spa park with the 636 meter long graduation facility. The Laga was originally supposed to take place in 2022. The event was initially postponed due to the corona pandemic.
