Würzburg (dpa / lby) – A 20-year-old overturned his car at high speed on Autobahn 3 near Würzburg and was seriously injured. His 22-year-old passenger also suffered serious injuries in the accident on Sunday, the police said on Monday. Accordingly, the driver lost control of the car in a right-hand bend and skidded on the rain-soaked road. The car then crashed into a concrete barrier, then into the guardrail and rolled over. The car only came to a stop on the roof after about 500 meters. The man and the passenger were taken to a hospital.

When searching for ID, emergency services found a bag with a little marijuana, a police spokesman said. It was initially unclear whether the driver was under the influence of drugs. Among other things, he has to answer for endangering road traffic, violation of the Narcotics Act, negligent bodily harm and other offenses. Two lanes of the A3 were closed for more than an hour.
