Hockenheim (dpa / lsw) – The video recording of a gas station on the A6 near Hockenheim (Rhein-Neckar district) has unmasked a driver without a driver’s license. The 22-year-old and two other men made sure that the recording was checked, the police said on Thursday. During a check by the highway police on Wednesday, the three claimed that the driver of their car had abandoned them. To verify the statement, officers looked at security camera footage at the gas station.

It turned out that one of the men present had been behind the wheel – but he did not have a driver’s license. The 22-year-old is therefore being investigated for driving without a license. His 21-year-old passenger wore a luxury watch advertised for receiving stolen goods. She was confiscated. There is a suspicion that the watch was obtained illegally and then resold.
