Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Since the start of the corona vaccination campaign in December 2020, around 214,000 vaccine doses have not been used in Saxony-Anhalt in the state’s own vaccination centers and in the state distribution center. This emerges from a response from the state government to a request from Left-wing MP Nicole Anger.

Most of these were the vaccine from the manufacturer Moderna (63.1 percent), but vaccines from Biontech (26.2 percent) and other manufacturers were also affected. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the vaccine is generally ordered as needed. In times of low demand, only small quantities of vaccine would be ordered.

There are currently around 14,200 vaccine doses in the districts and urban districts. Around 4,700 vaccine doses would expire at the end of the month if not used by then.
