Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The seven-day incidence of corona infected people in North Rhine-Westphalia has risen again. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the value on Tuesday morning was 774.0. A week ago, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants was 524.3 within a week.
The RKI reported 37,792 new Covid 19 cases in NRW on Tuesday. The number of deaths rose by 22 to 25,716. At district level, the incidence was highest in the most populous federal state in the Borken district (1455.0) and in the Hochsauerland district (1229.2).
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
