Plauen (dpa/sn) – The Lord Mayor of Klingenthal, Thomas Hennig (CDU), got the most votes in the district election in Vogtland. With 42.0 percent, however, he missed the absolute majority on Sunday, so that a second round of voting on July 3 is necessary. AfD candidate Roberto Rink (23.4 percent) came in second place in the Vogtland district (23.4 percent), as the State Office for Statistics informed about the preliminary result of the local elections. A total of five candidates in the Vogtland district were on the ballot paper. There, more than 185,000 people were called upon to elect a new district administrator. Voter turnout was 42.7 percent.
