Böblingen (dpa / lsw) – Drivers in the Böblingen district must expect delays in traffic at the weekend. The Autobahn 81 will be closed in both directions between the Böblingen-Hulb and Sindelfingen-Ost junctions. From Friday evening, 10:00 p.m., the road will be completely closed for the whole weekend until Monday morning, 5:00 a.m., as announced by the project management company DEGES. The recommended diversion will be via Sindelfingen and will be signposted.

The reason for the closure is the six-lane extension of Autobahn 81 between Böblingen and Sindelfingen. In order to be able to build the new lanes, all bridges over the motorway must be renewed. Steel girders for the bridge structure of the K1073 will now be lifted this weekend. That’s why the district road will be completely closed. Some bus routes will be diverted.
