Schwerin (dpa / mv) – Volleyball Bundesliga club SCC Palmberg Schwerin has found what they are looking for in the search for successors to Denise Imoudo and Femke Stoltenborg. The German national player Pia Kästner is moving from France’s runners-up ASPTT Mulhouse to the Mecklenburg team, as is Pia Fernau from VCO Berlin. Both additions should act as players in coach Felix Koslowski’s team, the club announced on Thursday.
“I know Pia very well from the national team. I saw last summer in particular that she has developed incredibly well again, especially in her personality,” said ex-national coach Koslowski. And he added: “You saw that in Mulhouse this season. Not only is she a very good player, but she was also one of the driving forces there, an absolute source of energy, emotionally pushing.”
About the only 19-year-old Pia Fernau, Koslowski said that the player had been observed since her beginnings in Berlin and the junior national team. “She showed very good approaches there. She is an absolute talent and we are happy to be able to take the next step with her here,” emphasized Koslowski.
