Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The listed Hugo Boss AG will be the new title sponsor of the Stuttgart ATP tournament. This was announced by the organizers of the lawn tennis event at the Weissenhof on Monday. The cooperation with the fashion company was initially agreed until 2025 and begins with this year’s edition of the tournament from June 6th to 12th. The event’s long-time title sponsor, Mercedes-Benz, had previously withdrawn.

In addition, it was announced on Monday that the Italian Matteo Berrettini will open in Stuttgart in two weeks. The 26-year-old is currently number ten in the world rankings and leads the provisional seeding list of the grass tournament, which is endowed with 769,645 euros. In 2019, Berrettini secured the title at the Weissenhof, and last year he reached the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon.

The starts of the Wimbledon semi-finalists Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) and Denis Shapovalov (Canada), the three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray (Scotland) and the Australian Nick Kyrgios had already been announced in Stuttgart. According to the current status, the German top player and Olympic champion Alexander Zverev is not part of the field of participants in the traditional event.
