David Pastrnak said that when he returned home from work, he didn’t think about hockey. He stated this to NHL.com on May 9. “You are getting ready to welcome the baby, and we couldn’t be happier. Hockey hasn’t been discussed much at home lately and that can sometimes be a good thing.

It’s great when things are going well. Sometimes you need to look at other things. It’s definitely been something new for me, but it’s so exciting. Family will always be number one. At the end of each day, it’s number 1. It’s a great job, and I am grateful for the opportunity to live and work in a place I love. But at the end it’s just a game. My family will always be number one. 1.

David Pastrnak was a source for laughter and positivity for his teammates, media, fans and everyone who knows him. Boston Hockey Now extends our deepest sympathy to his family during this difficult time. Let the light he gives to others shine on them and guide them through this. Viggo, may you be carried by angelic flights.
