Robbers ambushed and robbed a money transporter on the A20 in Western Pomerania. Nobody was injured – the search is in full swing.

Gützkow (dpa / mv) – robbers attacked a money transporter on Autobahn 20 in Western Pomerania and made loot in an as yet unknown amount. As a police spokeswoman said on Thursday, the incident occurred in the morning at the Autobahn 20 Gützkow junction (Vorpommern-Greifswald district). According to investigations so far, no one was injured. The perpetrators fled with their own van, the search is extensive, but has so far been unsuccessful. The Gützkow junction is closed, but Autobahn 20 is freely passable.

The perpetrators are said to have come with two vehicles, stopped the money transporter and opened it by force. According to the information, the two employees of the security company were forced to get out. The robbers then set fire to the money transporter and one of their murder vehicles and fled with the loot in the last vehicle. Whether the perpetrators were equipped with firearms is now to be determined.

Further details are not yet known. Autobahn 20 runs south to Berlin and Stettin, west to Lübeck and north to Rügen.
