Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – Two 19- and 24-year-old men were sentenced to prison terms on Monday by the Frankfurt Regional Court for a robbery in a family’s house in Kelkheim (Main-Taunus-Kreis). The younger main accused received two years and three months youth sentence, the 24-year-old two years probation. The 18-year-old former girlfriend of the main perpetrator was warned and put on therapy.
The young woman was well acquainted with the 16-year-old son of the robbed family and took advantage of this fact to let the robbers into the house through the bathroom window during a visit in November 2020. The masked men first forced the son into the basement where the safe was. Then they went through the house and took all kinds of valuables. The court assumed a total value of almost 2000 euros. There had already been several attacks on the youth, in which he lost cash and mobile phones.
While the woman confessed extensively and separated from her partner after the robbery, the men confessed only to a limited extent. The fact that her partner had apparently put considerable psychological pressure on her was decisive for the woman’s mild sentence. The public prosecutor’s office had demanded higher penalties for all the accused, while the defense attorneys had called for milder sanctions. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
