Marl (dpa / lnw) – In a production plant in the Marl chemical park (Recklinghausen district), a steam line ripped off early on Saturday morning. The loud, hissing noise that was made startled residents in the neighborhood, it said. According to a spokesman for Evonik Industries, the plant was shut down immediately and the steam pressure was slowly released over a period of around two hours. No people were harmed in the incident. The Marl Chemical Park is a location for specialty chemicals.
