Lotte (dpa / lnw) – Two rear-end collisions with a total of three seriously injured people on Autobahn 30 near Lotte (Steinfurt district) caused severe restrictions in the direction of Hanover on Thursday evening. First, a 35-year-old drove his car into a truck – the driver had to brake to a standstill due to traffic, the police said on Friday. The car got under the rear of the semitrailer. The 35-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The lane was reportedly closed for about two hours. At the top, traffic was backed up over a length of eight kilometers.
A little later, a 76-year-old drove his car into the car of a 35-year-old driver near the Lotte junction, the police said. At least one of the vehicles then collided with the central barrier. Both parties involved were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The Autobahn towards Hanover was closed for around an hour.
