Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – Hesse’s Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU) looks forward to the football World Cup in Qatar with subdued joy. “I will only watch the World Cup sporadically – and by no means with the same enthusiasm as usual,” he explained in Wiesbaden when asked by the dpa. “This is mainly due to the human rights situation in the host country.” He sees the fact that the German team flew on the plane to the Middle East with the message “Diversity Wins” as good news for open-mindedness and tolerance.
