Freiburg (dpa/lsw) – In view of the drought and the lack of water in the Dreisam river, so-called cold water pools for fish are being set up in Freiburg. In these pools east of the old town, the fish should have a place to retreat, as the Freiburg regional council announced on Tuesday. The construction work should therefore officially begin on Friday.
The comparatively high water temperatures in other bodies of water in the country also cause problems for fish. The Dreisam flows through the city of Freiburg and feeds the characteristic “Bächle” of the old town.
