Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) – Soccer professional Marvin Wanitzek wants to complete his ten years at Karlsruher SC. The 29-year-old midfielder has extended his contract with the Baden second division club until June 30, 2027, as announced by KSC on Tuesday. “Marvin’s development at KSC is just as impressive as it is not over yet. He came to us in the 3rd division and has developed into an absolute leading player in our team in recent years,” said sports director Oliver Kreuzer about Wanitzek.
Born in Ubstadt, he came to Karlsruhe from VfB Stuttgart in 2017. He has been in the starting XI in every game this season and has scored six goals and five assists so far. The number 10 of the Karlsruhe team used to be in the Wildpark Stadium as a young fan. For Kreuzer, Wanitzek is “undoubtedly one of the best players in the 2nd Bundesliga, if not the best in his position”. The professional himself emphasized: “KSC is my family, my home and my future. I am grateful and proud to be able to continue wearing the blue and white jersey for such a long time.”
