Harburg (dpa / lby) – A man drove a blue truck with blue lights on the roof and no front license plate from Lower Saxony about 600 kilometers to Harburg (Donau-Ries district). Only on the federal highway 25 between Großsorheim and Harburg did a patrol stop him on Monday, according to the police. The driver had been driving his semitrailer at around 100 kilometers per hour instead of the permitted 60.

The 24-year-old revealed he was pressed for time with an urgent delivery to Rain. To avoid a speed camera photo, he unscrewed the license plate. According to the police, the blue light on the roof should ensure a clear lane. He almost succeeded: Rain is just under 30 kilometers from Harburg. Now the man has to pay both a fine in the four-digit range and the contractual penalty for the late delivery.
