Gemünden am Main (dpa / lby) – According to initial estimates, a fire in a sawmill in the Main-Spessart district caused damage of several hundred thousand euros. The sawmill in Gemünden am Main burned down completely on Thursday evening, said a fire department spokesman. A neighboring vacant building also fell victim to the fire. According to the police, no one was injured. Several residents from the neighborhood had to be evacuated from their apartments and houses. The extinguishing work was still ongoing as of Thursday evening. The cause of the fire was initially unclear.
