Munich (dpa / lby) – The basketball players of FC Bayern have signed US center Freddie Gillespie. As the Munich Bundesliga club announced on Monday, Gillespie signed a two-year contract. The 25-year-old played last season first in the NBA for the Orlando Magic and later in the North American development league G League for Memphis Hustle. Gillespie made a total of 29 appearances in the NBA, 20 of them in his 2020-2021 debut season with the Toronto Raptors.

“What I will bring is first and foremost my mentality of wanting to get the best out of every situation; plus rebounding, defense, defending the ring, setting screens, going to the offensive rebound and my physique,” explains the 2.06 meter man great gillespie.

“Freddie is a young, very promising player who, with his physical abilities in the zone and in defending the ring, will give us an enormous presence,” said Munich sporting director Daniele Baiesi.
