Mörfelden-Walldorf (dpa/lhe) – A 19-year-old man was in a chase with the police on his scooter in Mörfelden-Walldorf (Groß-Gerau district). The two-wheeler collided with the patrol car and parked cars on Thursday afternoon, the police said on Friday. The 19-year-old also used the oncoming lane or the sidewalk several times, which endangered other road users, cyclists and pedestrians.
The officers wanted to check the moped because the passenger was not wearing a helmet, the police said. However, the driver did not react to the stop signs and instead accelerated. Police officers were finally able to arrest the passenger near sports fields and the driver at his home address. He was unable to show a valid driver’s license.
